| Many
people, despite a powerful belief that Jesus
Christ is their personal savior, lose their
way. When reliance on God is lost and we
instead rely upon our selves, it is possible
to become ensnared in the misery of addiction.
Shame, self-deception, and seemingly uncontrollable
urges can and will gradually pull an addicted
person further away from a relationship
with God and towards an accelerating downward
spiral into insanity and spiritual death.
While a current inability to live in God's
grace seems to be an incurable situation,
we have found that this is not so. The roots
of faith and trust in God are always there.
Our interventionists strive to be channels
of God's power. Christ's love, which is
truly within all of us, can reassert itself
in daily life if only we ask for help and
begin the work of healing. Shame and denial
of God can be temporary if we ask for help
and allow the spirit of God to work through
us.
Christians, we believe, can greatly benefit
from an approach to beginning recovery that
is specifically tailored for Christians
and by Christians. Our staff is intimately
familiar with the problems and challenges
of being a Christian who needs to overcome
active addiction.
